Marilyn Riva, 83, was born in Yonkers, New York on April 28, 1939 and passed away just as she lived, with beauty and grace, surrounded by the love of her husband and girls on November 23, 2022.
She is survived by her loving husband Joe; daughters Valerie and Karen; sister Pat and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Bill and Olive McNamee.
Marilyn was a beacon of light, compassion, faith and hope. She spent her life devoted to her family and her God. Marilyn worked for the church at St. Rose of Lima where she began as the Librarian at the school and for the final 25 years she was the Assistant to the Pastor where she met and cared for so many people.
She and Joe retired to Highlands, North Carolina for the next 25 years. They were members of Our Lady of the Mountains Church where she continued to devote herself to helping others. In 2017 they returned to South Florida to be with the girls. She was a woman of incredible faith, faith in family, faith in friends and community and faith in her God.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 29, 2022, 6:00pm - 9:00pm with a prayer service Tuesday evening all at Landmark Funeral Home. Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be Wednesday, 12:00noon at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 1301 SW 136th Avenue, Davie, FL
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation in Marilyn's memory to St. Rose of Lima School or St. Bonaventure School.
