Michael "Mickey" Thomas Holliday, 88, of Hollywood, passed away August 23, 2023. He was born July 9, 1935 in Elwood, Indiana to George and Mary Elizabeth (Hunt) Holliday. Michael proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and later made his career as a butcher. Throughout his life he was adamant about keeping in shape and met the love of his life at the YMCA. Together they continued a regiment of exercise and walking on the beach for many years.
Preceded in death by his parents, siblings Patrick Williams, Doris (Williams) Updegraff, Mary Lou (Williams) Hankley, Genevieve (Williams) Sizelove and George David Holliday and survived by Pierrette, his devoted wife of 39 years, daughters Susan (Scott) Rosen and Jeanne (Henery) Bosch, sisters Harriet York, Jeanne Strittmatter and brothers Stephen Holliday and Phillip Holliday.
Viewing is Wednesday, August 30, from 9:30 – 10:30 at Landmark Funeral Home, 4200 Hollywood Boulevard. A Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will take place at 11:00 am at Nativity Catholic Church, 5220 Johnson Street. An inurnment with military honors is scheduled for 11:00 on Thursday, September 7, at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
