SCHOLZ
Henry A. Scholz, Jr. age 85 of Ft. Pierce and formerly of Hollywood passed away October 27, 2021. A proud Veteran of the United States Navy. After playing semi-pro football, he started his career as a police officer in New Jersey for 6 years. He took his wife and children on vacation to Hollywood in the late 1960’s,and while here applied for a position at Hollywood Police Department. He retired as Detective Sargent after 30 years of dedicated service to this community. After retiring, he and his wife, Carol who owned Joan’s Florist, started working on cruise ships designing flowers and traveling the world for months at a time. His love of travel did not begin there as they traveled the United States extensively with his beloved grandchildren over the years.

He was an avid lover of the Miami Dolphins, as well as the Marlins. There was nothing more important to him as the love he had for his wife, children ,grandchildren and great grandchildren. “On the road again” was his motto, as he always had a beautiful travel trailer that beckoned to him to go visit family , friends and favorite towns that he loved . He was the kindest, most gentle, understanding man that there ever was. He will be tremendously missed by all.
Henry is survived by wife Carol; sons David (Wendy) and Joseph (Sharon Helms); daughter Debra (Gregory) Torchia; grandchildren Michelle (Josh), Lauren (Luke), Candice (Chad), Alexandria, Amanda, Ashley, Allison and Alli; and 8 great grandchildren.
