Funeral mass will be Friday, July 26, 2019 at 4:00pm at Little Flower Catholic Church (Chapel), 1805 Pierce Street, Hollywood, FL, and followed by a “Celebration of Life Paddle Out “ (Lifeguard, surfers and watermen ) at Indiana Street on Hollywood Beach at 6:30pm.

Leon Robert “Bo” Ormston, age 72, passed away peacefully Friday, July 12, 2019 in Hollywood, FL. He was born in Philadelphia, PA. Growing up with his mother Sadie, Father Lee, brother Wayne, and cousins Steve and Joey Lerro ,and lots of neighborhood friends and relatives. “Bob” loved being outdoors and playing sports in his hometown of Newtown square. He attended West Chester College. He was a boxer throughout his college years, fighting as a welter and super welterweight. He later received a degree in physical education. After graduating, he became an Ocean Lifeguard with the City of Ventnor in South Jersey. During his summer lifeguard years he met the love of his life Andi Johnson. Andi won Miss Ventnor City in 1970 – Bo was a judge – after that summer, their life continued together. Eventually Bo took a job teaching physical education. After a few years teaching and coaching , Bo decided to pursue his passion for music in New York City. While writing songs and playing guitar and saxophone in a rock band. Bo and Andi lived life to the fullest in Manhattan. They were married in their garden apartment. After fun years in the fast lane, the beach called their name. They relocated to Hollywood, FL to start a family, and Bo joined the Beach Patrol. Bo and Andi were a beautiful pair inside and out, and they were involved in every aspect of their sons Robert and Ryan’s lives. Bo coached them in sports, music, and the art of having a good time. He never missed a game – or any event that meant something to Rob and Ry. Bo loved riding his bike (30 miles a day for nearly 50 years), working on the beach, watching his favorite sports teams (a die-hard Miami Hurricanes fan), playing guitar, cooking delicious meals for family, and spending time with Andi and his boys. After serving 28 years on the Hollywood Beach Patrol where he ultimately became a Marine Safety Officer and retired as a Lieutenant. Bo pursued another passion: real estate and house investing. He had a wide net of loyal friends and was always there to lend a helping hand. In the last five years, he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandsons Luke Ryan and Cameron Robert. Bo never stopped pursuing his passions and caring deeply for Andi and his entire family. He was truly the life of the party and had the warmest smile that made everyone around him feel happy and unconditionally loved. Bo is survived by wife Andrea; sons Robert (Amber Jo) Ormston and Ryan (Elizabeth Scoble) Ormston; and grandchildren Cameron Robert and Luke Ryan. Also survived by Sister in law Terri ( Randy Davis) and children Ashlee and Madison, Matt ( Naomi ) Johnson, and Tim (Joan) Johnson and their children, Tim (Christin) Johnson, Luke and Scarlett, Justine (Dan) Wetzel and Abigail.
