Norma June Corbin (Boggs), 73, passed away on December 10th at her home. She and her loving husband, Richard Banon Corbin, shared forty-seven years of marriage together before Richard’s passing in June of 2017. She is survived by her children, Caroline Ward and John Corbin, her grandsons, Tyler and Trevor Ward, and her sister-in-law, Patricia Stevens. Norma was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Efton and Elsie Boggs. As a junior in high school, she was crowned Bixby Oklahoma Peach Queen, and graduated from Bixby High School in 1966. After high school, she went on to attend Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK, where she earned her degree in education. While in college, she played club basketball and volleyball. Norma grew up working in the family produce farming business in Jenks, Oklahoma. She and Richard met while in college and married on June 2, 1970. After college, she and Richard moved to Fort Lauderdale, where they worked as teachers until 1975, when they returned to Oklahoma and became partners in the Boggs family produce business. Richard headed the produce farm and Norma taught elementary school at Kellyville Elementary, where she later became principal. Richard and Norma sold the family business in 1987 and returned to Florida in 1988, where Norma taught reading and Richard taught physical education at Driftwood Middle School. Norma was a lover of athletics, and would be seen at every softball, baseball and basketball game she could attend for her daughter Caroline, son John, and grandsons Tyler and Trevor. She loved spending time with her family and will be remembered for her big heart and generous nature.
