A viewing and service is scheduled from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the 30th of December 2021 at Valerie Panciera's Landmark Funeral Home at 4200 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, FL 33021. There will be a live stream available at www.facebook.com/landmarkfuneralhome from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM

To celebrate his life there will be a small gathering at his former home at 5131 SW 155th Avenue from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for any who are interested. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ray's life.

RAYMOND J. O’BRIEN died in his home on the 23rd of December 2021 in Miramar, Florida at the age of 59 due to complications from pancreatic cancer.

Ray is survived by his wife Dawn, children James (Jimmy), Caitlin (Cait) and Mackenzie (Mack), siblings, Edward O’Brien, Deborah Saienni and Kevin O’Brien.

Ray was born on the 5th of December 1962 in New York, New York to Elizabeth (Betty) and Edward O’Brien. He graduated from Gulf High School in 1980 and joined the Marines. In 1981 he married Gerri Anne Galowitsch. Together they had 2 children, James and Caitlin and 1 grandchild, Nathan. They were married for 16 years and remained close friends to the end.

Ray was in the Marines for 8 years serving in Cherry Point, South Carolina, Haylock, South Carolina, Virginia Beach and Japan.

He married Dawn Kaplan in 2001. After moving to Miramar, Florida, Ray began working for Memorial Healthcare System as a Programmer I on the Lawson System. The couple welcomed Mackenzie into their home and Ray set about completing his Master of Health Administration from Phoenix University in 2016.

Ray went on to work for Franklin Academy doing security and computers. He was always there to do whatever needed to be done for the school.
