Sima Stelian Farcasiu, 60, born in Arad, Romania on September 7th, 1959, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 9th, 2020 in Hollywood, FL. Born during the height of communist rule, Sima (known to some as Sam) grew up in a Christian family and as a result faced persecution, causing him to flee his home country at the age of 22 with his brother, Joseph, and sister-in-law. Leaving behind his expectant wife was difficult, but with God’s help he managed to escape and eventually migrated to Cleveland, Ohio, where his wife and daughter, Simona, would later join him. In search of better weather and employment prospects, Sima would soon move to Hollywood, Florida, where his son, Sima, was born, and where he and his family would remain for the rest of his life working at Stimpson as a highly skilled tool and die maker. Sima was renowned for his ability to fix just about anything and willingness to help others with their repairs. He was always ready to put into action his own solution for any problem in front of him. However, tragedy struck eight years ago when his son, Sima, suddenly and tragically died at the age of 26. Grief overwhelmed him and he would frequent a beach-side bench on a near daily basis to remember the son he lost. In the end, he was joyful at the thought of being re-united with his son in Heaven, but even more so at being with Jesus at last. His joy was made complete at being able to spend time with his grandchildren for a couple weeks prior to his passing. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Vicky; his daughter, Simona (Robert) Brindle; grandchildren, Victoria, Sean, Charity, and Stephen Brindle; and his brother, Joseph (Elena) Farcasiu. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Sima and Florica Farcasiu, and his son, Sima Farcasiu.
