Samuel (Sam) Joseph Consiglio, age 91, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2023, in Hollywood, Florida.
Sam is survived by his daughter Susan and son-in-law Richard Compton of Hollywood, FL; his grandson Joshua Hackett, of Fort Myers, FL; his great grandchildren Aaralyn and Raiden Hackett of Fort Myers, FL; his beloved sister Joanne Loughner and late Charles J. Loughner of Coconut Creek, FL plus many nieces and nephews.
Sam was born on November 28, 1931, in Sharpsburg, PA, the son of the late Salvatore and the late Florence (Scrofani) Consiglio. Sam is preceded in death by his treasured siblings; brother John Consiglio and wife late Rose Marie Consiglio, brother Norman Conn and sister Rose Marie Bruce and husband late William Bruce.
He was married in 1956 to the late Donna Jane Aultman and the couple had five children together including four who died in infancy or prebirth. The couple divorced in 1979. Sam married Karen Haines Piccolino in 1984 and later divorced.
Sam served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan as a cook, where he developed his great love of cooking. After discharge he attended Robert Morris Business College and was later employed by television station KDKA in Pittsburgh, PA. After joining the Methodist Church, Sam became an active 32nd degree Mason and later Pittsburgh Syria Shriner. He was also a charter member of the Rotary International and active in Monroeville, PA Junior Chamber of Commerce. Sam owned the Pittsburgh Blueprint before moving to Hollywood, FL in 1976. He worked in advertising for various radio stations and eventually served as manager of South Florida’s WGMA /98-Gold where he developed life-long friendships. He later owned Five Star Media Advertising Agency until his retirement.
A viewing is scheduled for August 18, 2023, from 6-9pm at Landmark Funeral Home 4200 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, FL. There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate Sam’s life at 11am on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Sheridan Hills Baptist Church Chapel 3751 Sheridan Street, Hollywood, FL.
The family is especially grateful for the loving and compassionate care given to Sam by staff at Five Star Premier Residence in Hollywood as well as Trustbridge Hospice.
